Last night I sat in my safe home in America, protected by a home alarm system, with a local police force and a state government which is attempting to secure our international border and keep us safe. Even while I sat here, I know there are so many of my precious Christian brothers and sisters who face the threat of death at any moment in very dangerous places because of their faith. I found myself weighed down in prayer for those whose lives are in grave danger, and I know that they are in very close communication with our Heavenly Father. I imagine that their prayers are similar to those of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane: “Not my will but Thine be done.” Knowing that they have no other hope for rescue than to trust their God, they embrace the words of Philippians 1:20, 21: “I eagerly expect and…
